The following is a partial list of Sumner Police Department Activity from March 28 to April 3:

April 3

Found

An individual found on the 6200 block of Parker Road a baggie containing suspected marijuana residue. It was submitted into evidence to be destroyed.

Hit and Run

Police were dispatched to the 15000 block of Main Street for a report of a hit and run in which one vehicle left white paint on the driver side door of a gray car.

Burglary

An individual allegedly took $1.13 in change from a jar in the 1700 block of Main Street. He was charged with second-degree burglary.

April 2

Found

Police found a bicycle on the 15400 block of Main Street and two additional bikes in the bushes on the 800 block of Alder Avenue.

Vandalism

Police took a report of of a rock being thrown through a resident’s front window in the 1700 block of Wood Avenue.

April 1

Theft

A tailgate was stolen off a truck parked the 1400 block of Washington Street.

March 31

A flap over flaps

Police on Traffic Avenue noticed a truck that appeared to have been lifted so the fender only covered 2 inches of the tire. By law, the tire needs to be covered to the center of the axle, approximately 6 inches. The officer pulled over the vehicle and talked to the driver about necessary flaps. While checking the license, the driver was discovered to be driving with license suspended. The officer then helped the driver push the truck into a legal parking space while the driver waited to be picked up.

Fraud

An individual noticed and reported to police that unauthorized withdrawals totaling $2500 had been made from a savings account.

Burglary

An officer stopped to talk to two males in a truck parked across two stalls. The officer discovered that the individuals had no proof of insurance and a cancelled license. While talking, the officer noticed a bag full of power tools in the truck. Radio reported that another officer was dispatched to a burglary report and the vehicle description matched the truck. A witness then positively identified the individuals. The officer placed one individual under arrest and took in the the other for questioning.

Hit and Run

Police were called to the 16200 block of 64th Street for report of a hit and run in which a pickup truck hit and knocked down a 15-foot section of fence. The suspect fled without leaving information.

March 30

Vandalism

A resident in the 300 block of Valley Avenue reported a broken fence rail after hearing a noise in the night.

March 28

Robbery

A property owner in the 1400 block of East Valley called police after observing a truck parked at his gate. The owner stopped, observed the lock was cut and called out to the suspect. The suspect yelled back and then knocked the owner back with a truck door and left the scene. The owner reported no need for aid.

Burglary

Police took a report from a business owner in the 15300 block of Main Street who discovered his door open and approximately $6,000 worth of computer equipment missing.
