Arends to seek fourth term on Bremerton City Council
Jun 18 2009
Bremerton City Councilmember Carol Arends says she will seek re-election to her District 7 seat on the council.
“I have worked hard since 1998 to promote the renewal of Bremerton and I look forward to doing what I can to keep the momentum going,” said Arends, who served as council president in 2000, 2002 and 2003.
Arends was elected to her first term in Novem-ber 1997 and re-elected in 2001 and 2005. In addition to having served as council president, she served as its vice president twice. She now chairs the council’s audit committee and serves on its public works committee.
She represents Bremerton in several capacities at the county and regional levels. She has served twice as chair of the Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council, an advisory body of local governments in Kitsap County. She continues to serve on KRCC committees and on the CenCom Policy Board.
Arends also serves on several committees of the Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) with local government officials from King, Pierce and Snohomish counties. She is a member of the PSRC executive board and its operations committee, as well as the PRSC Transportation Policy Board.
