Kitsap Bank robbery suspect nabbed in Bremerton

Nov 18 2008

A robbery was reported at Kitsap Bank on Lebo Boulevard in Bremerton at 3:12 p.m. Monday, but the suspect was quickly apprehended about 10 minutes later.

The suspect, a black male in his 20s wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray pants and gray knit cap, entered the bank and went behind the teller line. The suspect pushed a teller against a wall and grabbed her keys. He then took an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash drawer and fled on foot.

Bremerton Police patrol units and detectives set up containment in the area. At 3:22 p.m., the suspect was spotted walking on the north end of the Warren Avenue Bridge. He was arrested without incident. The money from the bank was recovered. The teller pushed in the robbery was not injured.

The suspect was taken to Harrison Medical Center for evaluation, then taken to the Kitsap County Jail.
