Nov 09 2009
In case your Dutch friends have been feeling left out in the Viking City, stop by the Marina Market Nov. 15 for the 10th annual Dutch Open House.
It's the tenth anniversary for the gathering of those with hereditary roots in the Netherlands.
Store owner Andrea Rowe said many with Dutch roots have moved here for jobs at Microsoft or Holland America Line.
And there are lots who live in Poulsbo, said Rowe, who is among those with Dutch roots.
"They feel left out," Rowe said. "There's no Sons of Norway for them."
Also featured alongside Dutch food will be Indonesian food recognizing Holland's colonial past.
The market, which specializes in European food, is hosting the even from 1 to 3 p.m. It is located at 18882 Front Street.
