What a Kingston Fourth of July!

Jul 29 2008

The Kingston Fourth of July parade and celebration was a roaring, magnificent success! The 2008 Ball Race sponsored by the Kingston Revitalization Association (KRA) was one of the centerpieces of the celebration again this year. We don’t know how to thank the citizens of Kingston, visitors from surrounding communities, including the boaters, and out-of-town guests for their participation.

A friend of Kinston resident Diana Bennet-Wirtz, Bob Robertson of Edmonds, won the grand-prize race, and Kevin Mooney and Margaret Finney of Kingston were the other race winners!

KRA spends approximately $3,000 a year to have Kingston’s hanging flower baskets planted. We raise all our own monies. The baskets are put up, taken down, maintained and watered by volunteers (for which we are eternally grateful). These people are selfless and contribute mightily to the beauty and well being of Kinston.

You are just as indispensable, because you contributed $927 through the 2008 ball race sales toward the $3,000 cost for next year. Give yourselves a pat on the back, and while you may not have won one of the prizes, you DID win. Thank you!
