Gregory has edge in North Kitsap Fire and Rescue race

In a preliminary vote count released Tuesday evening, incumbent Gillian Gregory had earned 52 percent of the vote in the race the North Kitsap Fire and Rescue Commission's Position 4.

With 3,991 votes counted, Gregory had collected 2,079 while challenger D. Scott Henden trailed with 1,881.

In the other contested north end race, C. Joyce McClain had scooped up 70.9 percent of the 289 votes cast in the Port of Eglon commission race, outpacing opponent Marcus Croman.

Uncontested candidates were:

  • Will Stewart, North Kitsap Fire and Rescue commission

  • David A. Roberts, Port of Eglon commission

  • Pet Deboer, Port of Kingston commission

  • John R. Jacobsen, Port of Indianola commission

The Kitsap County Auditor's Office estimated it had about 21,000 ballots left to count countywide.
