Camp Slack’s 6th Annual Turkey Day Potluck, ‘All This Poultry Carnage’ at Winterland and Hell’s Belles make up a special booze-and-turkey-flavored docket of rock.

“Camp Slack” is the endearing moniker that local(ish) musician Shawn Holly has coined for a few different houses he’s lived in, both here and abroad, which, he said, have served primarily as crash pads and practice spaces for various bands.

The first Camp Slack was a humble abode behind the Marina Mart in Port Orchard some six years ago.

“Every Thanksgiving, as a bunch of our friends were either homeless or very poor, we would have a small potluck dinner and have some bands play in the living room,” Holly said in an e-mail, writing from out of state, where he’s been working on the new Mythological Horses album “Idaho.”

Each year, he said, the dinner got a little bit bigger. Last year, it grew to the point of moving out of the living room and into the showroom of Ploy Studios in Bremerton as Holly and crew put together the annual turkey dinner rock show on a much bigger scale, still free of charge for everyone.

And even though Holly’s been out of town working on that new album, the tradition continues this year at the Charleston.

“There’s a very tight friendship and community here in Bremerton with all the bands and all the indie-owned businesses like Hi-lo’s Cafe, Smitty’s Tattoo, Doggy Style Pet Grooming, Ploy, Winterland, the Charleston Theater and the AFU hall,” Holly said. “This whole town is a family, and I feel the need to feed my family.”

FRIDAY

Not sure whether or not to take literally that they’re calling this the “All This Poultry Carnage Show.”

The phrase conjures a couple gruesome settings for a rock show — one involving a rancorous turkey slaughter and another of an over-stuffed Thanksgiving connoisseur losing the prior day’s feast on the showroom floor after mixing too much PBR and heavy metal.

My guess is either is possible at Winterland.

In addition to all the inevitable poultry carnage from the evening after Thanksgiving, Kilkahl will be bringing the death metal adding to Steelscape’s vocal-less wickedness while Madmartigan sprinkles in some cranium-pounding, dreadlock-flailing, grunge-thrash-stoner-rock.

Feast on that.

If anything can snap your drunken uncle out of that booze-and-tryptophan daze, chances are Hell’s Belles will do the trick.

The premiere all-female AC/DC tribute band is back in Port Orchard, playing the same room at 715 Bay St. which used to be one of their former haunts — the old JA Michaels.

Nowadays, it’s the Slip 45. But the Belles haven’t changed much.

The country’s premiere all-female AC/DC tribute is still jetting across the country, saluting those who are about to rock, spending their off time killin’ it with their respective original side projects.

Which speaking of: Neutralboy just wrapped up a self-propelled nationwide tour; the Sickness recently recorded an album produced by Kathy Valentine of The Go-Gos; And Witchburn opened for Mudvayne at the Showbox Nov. 17. Wrock.
