Silverdale man turns restaurant into a drive-thru

May 28 2005

Kuang Ming Yen of Silverdale, 38, rammed the outside of Golden Grill Mongolian Barbeque in Silverdale at 10:55 p.m. on May 23 because he said he saw his wife, who was inside the restaurant, kissing another man earlier in the day.

He told the responding KCSO deputy, “I just went crazy.” When the deputy first arrived and was getting out of his patrol car he saw Yen ram his car into the front of the restaurant and then backed up and hit the building again.

Yen was ordered out of the car, but could not speak English and a woman standing nearby offered to translate. He said he saw his wife kissing a man earlier in the day and went inside the restaurant to talk to her.

According to reports, they got in an argument and he left and went outside and began ramming his car into the building.

He was placed into handcuffs and put in the back of a patrol car. He began thrashing about and screaming. He said his wrist hurt. He was examined by South Kitsap Fire & Rescue at the jail. The paramedic advised that he should go to the hospital to get an x-ray.

Yen refused and said, “I don’t want to go to the hospital.” The deputy told him he was surprised he suddenly spoke English. He said he knows some English and said his wrist no longer hurt. He was booked into jail on a charge of first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, a felony. He is now being charged with third-degree malicious mischief, a misdemeanor.
