Fuel tank at Seabeck Marina leaks into Hood Canal

The patch job that was done to a gasoline supply hose of a fuel tank at Seabeck Marina didnt work too well.
Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue (CKFR) crews responded last Monday morning to a minor gasoline leak at Seabeck Marina that was coming from a 1-1/2-inch fuel tank supply line once used for fueling boats. The above ground gas tank had been drained sometime ago and whatever was dripping out was what was left in the line, according to Paul OBrien, regional supervisor of the Department of Ecology spill response team.
It appears that someone had put a patch on the existing hole, but the patch deteriorated, said CKFR Battalion Chief Joe Repar. A small quantity of gasoline dripped into the water, a minimum risk to marine life.
