Bainbridge fell to Lindbergh 44-6 in a district playoff game Friday night. The Spartans, whose post-season run marks their first appearance since 2006, entered the playoffs as the third seed from the Metro Sound division.

With seven minutes to go in the first quarter, Alex Johnson scored on a four-yard run. Will Devereux’s kick was wide left, but the Spartans took the early 6-0 lead.

The Eagles answered quickly with a 50-yard touchdown pass from freshman Matt Stuart to Frank Cange.

Lindbergh took the lead with a 54-yard interception return, and never looked back.

Turnovers plagued the Spartans, who gave up the ball 10 times, six of which were on loss of down.

Johnson rushed for 61 yards on 19 carries, and Josh Peters added 55 yards on 11 attempts.

Carson Zajonc, who was sacked six times Friday, completed two-of-four passes.

Stuart completed seven-of-18 attempts, for four touchdowns and 209 passing yards.
