Kings of Bainbridge celebrate 60th anniversary

Ed and Iris King, residents of Bainbridge Island for 59 years, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner on June 14.
They were married on June 13, 1948, in Bellingham.
Ed was born in Logan, Kan., and served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-46. He etired as principal of Wilkes Elementary School in 1979.
The former Iris Bowden was born in Bellingham and taught in the Bainbridge Island School District.
The couple has three children, Carol King of Poulsbo, Peter King of Oak Hill, Va. and Molly King Montoya of Bainbridge Island.
They also have six grandchildren, Andrew King, Vanessa King, Spencer King, Elizabeth Montoya, Lindsey Montoya and Adrienne Montoya.
