Bomb threat cancels classes at Snoqualmie Middle School
Nov 18 2009
Classes were canceled Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Snoqualmie Middle School, after a bomb threat was found in a school bathroom.
Students and staff were evacuated, walking to Mount Si High School around 9 a.m. Wednesday morning after a message was found stating that a bomb was set for 11 a.m. that day.
Students waited in the auditorium while police checked the facility. Parents arrived to take middle school students home after the decision was made to cancel all classes.
Middle school students who typically ride a school bus home were to remain at the high school until the end of the day with supervision from SMS staff members. District school buses were to transport them to their regular bus stops at the regular dismissal time.
Parents will need to bring identification and may drive in the bus lanes for this pick-up, prior to 1:45 p.m.
Students who normally walk home were also to be released at the regular dismissal time. Children who do not have access to buses or do not live near enough to walk will remain at the school until a parent arrives to pick them up. No students were to be released early without a parent signature.
Lunch arrangements were made for all Snoqualmie Middle School students. All afternoon activities at Snoqualmie Middle School have been cancelled.
Students who left belongings at the school should check the district Web site, www.svsd410.org, to see if the building will re-open today or if they need to wait until Thursday morning to retrieve their belongings.
If you have information that could assist police in the investigation, call Snoqualmie Police at (425) 888-3333.
