Flood warning issued for Snoqualmie, Tolt rivers

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Tolt and Snoqualmie Rivers near Carnation.
According to NWS, heavy rain over a short period of time Monday pushed run-off of some rivers in the Cascades to high levels. At 9:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 26, river gauges show the Tolt River flowing at 3,100 cubic feet per second. Flood stage is 4,500 CFS.
The river is forecasted to rise above flood flow around 1 p.m. Monday, and crest near 5,330 CFS around 5 p.m. The river will fall below flood flow this evening.
Snoqualmie River is at risk for later tonight.
At 4,500 CFS the Tolt River will flood Tolt River Road and many driveways. Some homes in the San Souci area could be inaccessible due to deep and quick flood waters.
The river level on the Tolt corresponds to a Phase 3 in the King County Flood System.
Residents are advised to not drive cars, truck or SUVs through flooded areas, which is the cause of most flood related deaths in Washington.
