Snoqualmie city administrator terminated

Jul 24 2003

SNOQUALMIE - Snoqualmie City Administrator Gary Armstrong was fired last week by Mayor Fuzzy Fletcher.

Armstrong was verbally notified of his termination at the end of the day on July 15.

In a letter to Armstrong released by the city, Fletcher said the reasons for the termination were based on Armstrong's failure to correct some issues discussed at the end of a two-week leave he took earlier this year.

Fletcher said personnel issues had not been addressed and that he no longer had faith in Armstrong's ability to administer the city and guide it through the upcoming budget process.

Fletcher, who would not go into detail at this time about the reasons why Armstrong was fired, said the termination was a mayoral decision.

Armstrong first started working for the city in November 1998 as the city's public works director. He became the city administrator in March 2000.
