Crooning to fight cancer
Mar 17 2009
Community efforts came to the fore at the first annual Snoqualmie Valley Relay For Life Crab Feed and fundraiser, held Saturday, March 9 at the Snoqualmie Eagles Aerie.
The very crabby affair was cooked up by Amy Graham of the Sassy Turtle catering company, who is this year’s Relay For Life hospitality chair. She and her crew made sure that everyone got plenty of the delectable deep sea crustaceans and clam chowder provided by Mike’s Cascade Grill, coleslaw, pasta salad and garlic bread provided by Twede’s Cafe, and homemade cookies baked by Relay committee members Anne Mahoney and Lisa Newell.
Elvis and Johnny Cash, thanks to ELVIS By Dano & a Li'l Johnny Cash, came back to life to help entertain the guests and the dance floor was packed.
Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Snoqualmie Valley. The Relay For Life is a fundraising effort that benefits the American Cancer Society and the fight against cancer.
Throughout the 2009 Relay For Life season, there will be opportunities for the community to lend support.
Team fundraisers will be taking place, sponsors are needed, in kind donations of goods and services are being sought, and volunteers are needed to work, join teams and donate.
The relay takes place July 11 at Centennial Field in Snoqualmie.
