Teen author Dallas Jessup to appear at Borders Books at Redmond Town Center

Teen author Dallas Jessup, founder of the non-profit organization Just Yell Fire will appear at Borders at Redmond Town Center at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 11.
She's promoting her new book "Young Revolutionaries Who Rock, An Insider's Guide to Saving the World One Revolution at a Time" (Sutton Hart Press 2009) and will be available to answer questions. The book is a groundbreaking call to teen activism, sharing Jessup's story and those of 10 other teens who are affecting the world by fighting against disease, bullying, Big Tobacco and other social injustices.
As a 13-year-old Tae Kwon Do black belt, Jessup set out to make a home video to show her classmates some get-away moves she learned from her Filipino Street Fighting coach. The project blossomed with 100 volunteer extras, a professional crew of 30 volunteers and even Josh Holloway and Evangeline Lilly from television's "LOST."
Besides demonstrating get-away techniques to prevent assault, it includes a Dating Bill of Rights and other safety information for teen girls. It went online for free download at the end of 2006 and became one of the 10 most downloaded production-length films worldwide in 2007-2008.
Jessup has traveled extensively to spread messages to prevent sexual assault. She has appeared in People, Seventeen and InTouch magazines, on "The Today Show," MSNBC, ABC News and scores of other media outlets.
