Rising Christian rock star to perform at Overlake Church

Nov 08 2008

Christian recording artist Lincoln Brewster will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, presented by the Christian Music Summit and Overlake Christian Church, 9900 Willows Rd. NE in Redmond (www.occ.org).

Doors open for seating at 6:30 p.m. Food concessions and the coffee bar are available onsite starting at 5 p.m. Box Office/Will Call opens at 5:30 p.m. Tickets, $17.50 each, can be purchased online at www.christianmusicsummit.com or at the door.

In September, Brewster released his new CD, “Today is the Day.” The first single “Today is the Day” charted only one week after being released to radio and was the most-added single at Christian A/C three weeks in a row.

Brewster’s previous single, “Everlasting God” from “Let the Praises Ring — The Best of Lincoln Brewster,” reached number one at the three major A/C radio charts.

In addition to “Let the Praises Ring,” Brewster has recorded four other solo albums and made guest appearances on numerous Integrity Music projects. He garnered a Dove Award nomination in 2007 for the special event album, “Arise — A New Celebration of Worship.”

The three loves of his life are his family, his faith and his music. He was raised by a single mom who taught him to play the mandolin by age five and the electric guitar by age nine. He married his high school sweetheart, Laura, and is the father of two young sons named Liam and Levi.

Early on in his career, Brewster played and toured with rocker Steve Perry, formerly of Journey, and received recording offers from mainstream labels, before he turned 21. Brewster stepped away from the pursuit of mainstream rock stardom to serve in his local church.

He currently serves on staff at Bayside Church near Sacramento, Calif., as Worship Arts Pastor. Spreading the word far and wide, he is also an instructor for worship seminars and workshops across the United States and is a guest columnist for worship/ministry publications.

Brewster has incorporated touring back into his life with appearances at major faith-based festivals such as Creation, Kingdom Bound and Hillsong Conference, Australia.
