City seeking applicants for the Redmond Arts Commission

Nov 03 2009

The City of Redmond is seeking applications for positions on the Redmond Arts Commission.

The mission of the Arts Commission is “A Community Inspired and Connected by Arts and Culture.”

Arts commissioners work to achieve excellence in arts programming; nurture and support artists, arts organizations and arts education and promote attendance at arts events. The commission also makes recommendations to the Mayor and City Council regarding arts-related acquisitions, programs, projects and events. All board and commission members are volunteers.

The Arts Commission has four positions available and Redmond residents and individuals who work in Redmond or reside in unincorporated King County with a Redmond zip code are eligible to apply. Arts commissioners serve three-year terms, attending Redmond Arts Commission meetings at least once a month (second Thursday of each month). They also may work on commission projects of interest to them.

Interested applicants can download an application at www.redmond.gov/arts or call (425) 556-2316 to have an application mailed. Applications will be accepted until all positions are filled.
