Between Wednesday, May 14, and Tuesday, May 20, the Kirkland Police Department reported 268 traffic violations, 23 noise complaints, 22 thefts, 21 car accidents, 22 assaults (13 domestic violence), 19 alarm calls and nine vehicle prowls. At least 57 people were arrested.
Thursday, May 15
1:27 p.m.: A resident of the 9900 block of N.E. 124th St. alleged two juveniles were smoking marijuana on the porch of their home. Police were advised the drug use was an ongoing issue with the residents.
10:50 p.m.: A 19-year-old man was arrested for assault on the 300 block of 18th Avenue. He allegedly forced entry into the residence, argued with his sister and an ex-girlfriend and punched one during the exchange.
Saturday, May 17
6:00 p.m.: A Dublin, Texas, man alleged a local female resident had stolen his vehicle -- a 2006 Cheverolet HHR -- from a parking lot on the 11200 block of N.E. 124th Street.
Sunday, May 18
10:14 a.m.: Police spotted a smoldering tree fire on the 300 block of Central Way and attempted to use fire extinguishers to put it out. Kirkland firefighters later arrived to complete the task.
Tuesday, May 20
11:07 p.m.: A local motorist was seen driving erratically along the 12000 block of N.E. 116th Street. Police arrested a 29-year-old woman for DUI after she failed several field sobriety tests and refused to submit to a portable breathalyzer test.
