'Mr. Kirkland' to say goodbye Feb. 1
Jan 21 2009
Known by many as "Mr. Kirkland," long-time resident Chuck Morgan is saying goodbye.
He will soon move to Wenatchee to be closer to his family.
Publisher and editor-in-chief of the East Side Journal, Morgan has championed countless causes and initiatives to improve the lives of Kirkland residents. Since moving here in 1946, he's mounted successful campaigns for a clean water supply, advocated paving city streets, pushed for a strong city-manager form of government and backed the merger of Houghton with Kirkland (to name but a few).
Morgan invites the community to his farewell party, from 12-2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1 at Heritage Hall. His only request: "No gifts! Your presence is your gift."
For reservations, e-mail Morgan at Rsvp4chuckmorgan@gmail.com.
