Celebrate Kirkland 4th of July
Jun 30 2009
The theme for the annual Kirkland 4th of July Celebration is "Red, White, Blue and Green All Over" (reduce, reuse, recycle). The event will begin at 10 a.m. as the Kirkland Arts Center and Celebrate Kirkland host a "decorate to celebrate" for kids at the Marina Park Pavilion. The all-day event will also feature a children's walking parade at Market and Central at 11:30 a.m., an downtown parade at noon, food vendors and activities at Marina Park from 1-5 p.m., live music by the Ex Box Boys, an annual Rotary Duck Dash and fireworks.
The Marina and Lake Street parking lots will be closed from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for volunteer parking. The Marina parking lot will open after 1:30 p.m. In the evening, once Marina parking is full there will be no entrance into the park. After the fireworks show drivers will wait until the pedestrians are cleared from the park and traffic can move safely from the lot.
