Against health care reform
Dec 03 2009
I couldn't help but to respond to the letter by Andrea Bice on health care reform in the Nov. 27 issue of The Reporter.
Before voicing opinions one should educate themselves on what the problems are and address those problems with real constructive ideas and not class warfare.
For the most part the government is not the solution but the primary problem and will only increase the cost and decrease the quality of health care and bankrupt the country in the process.
Starting points to reduce costs are true tort reform, opening state borders for purchase of insurance to create compitition, reduce mandates for coverage and make the cost of insurance tax deductable for individules and not just business and unions.
Requiring people to buy a product (health insurance) and criminalizing not buying it is just plain wrong. I would ask people to not give up their freedom and do everything in their power to defeat the Obama health care reform and demand that your congress tackle real ideas to improve health care and not just grow government and take care of Democratic Party special interest.
