Public invited to open house about I-90 project today

Sep 16 2008

The Washington State Department of Transportation is hosting an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Lewis Creek Visitors Center in Bellevue.

The topic is the completion of the Final Environmental Impact Statement on the Interstate 90 Snoqualmie Pass East Project.

There will be no formal presentation made, however, there will be booths describing aspects of the project, a video tour of the project and WSDOT staff members will be available to answer any questions.

The I-90 Snoqualmie Pass East Project is aimed at improving I-90 into a six-lane freeway from Hyak to Easton. The project will also straighten roadway curves, replace old pavement and reduce rock fall and avalanche hazards. There will be a wildlife crossing over and under I-90. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2009.

The Lewis Creek Visitors Center is at 5808 Lakemont Blvd., Bellevue, 98008.
