Boys and Girls Club awards Bellevue athletes

The Boys and Girls club of Bellevue gave out its annual awards at the July 16 board meeting, recognizing several young Bellevue athletes.
Jason Sass was recognized as the Major League Baseball 2008 S.T.A.R award recipient. The award, which recognizes members ages 10-18, is given to a youth who demonstrates outstanding sportsmanship, team spirit, achievement, and responsibility in sports, fitness and social recreation programming.
Also awarded at the meeting were the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA All-region Player of the Year awards. Emma Bergstrom and Jake Paul were chosen as the recipients of the award. Clint Mead was selected as the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Coach of the Year.
The awards were presented by Senior Athletic Director Randy Wilkens.
