Ryan Stromberg, Eastside Catholic

Senior, baseball

Catcher

Highlight: Stromberg hit two homeruns and drove in four during Eastside Catholic’s 11-0 win over Ingraham on March 14.

Favorite class: History

Favorite athletic moment: When I was 12 I was on the all-star team playing against the American League team. It was 5-4 and I was up to bat with one man on. The pitcher threw me a first pitch fastball that I fouled off, and then came back with the same pitch and I hit a homer to win the game.

Favorite athlete: Manny Ramirez, only because when he hits a homerun and he knows it, it’s awesome to watch.

Dream profession: I couldn’t tell you what my dream profession is yet, hopefully it’s something to do with sports though because my love for athletics will never fade.

Personal file: I will hopefully continue to play baseball in college and will always play basketball as well.

Katy Kirschner, Interlake

Senior, softball

Shortstop

Highlight: Kirschner went 3 for 5 with a double and knocked in the winning run in Interlake’s 8-7 win over Skyline on March 13.

Favorite class: English

Favorite athletic moment: Getting the game-winning hit in the city tournament in fifth grade on the Bellevue National Cardinals.

Favorite athlete: My favorite athlete is Brandon Roy because he is very good looking and because he has achieved so much being so young all the while maintaining a humble attitude.

Dream profession: It is my dream to be a journalist because you get the opportunity to inform, inspire, and touch a massive amount of people.

Personal file: Softball Scholarship to Western Washington University, 2nd team All-Kingco (freshman), 1st team (sophomore, junior), 3.9 GPA, member of honor society. I have five brothers, which is definitely where I get my competitive spirit from!
