The countdown on New Year's Eve was a huge let down for some in Bellevue, when R&B singer Ne-Yo failed to make an appearance at the Meydenbauer Center.
A staff member at the Meydenbauer Center confirmed that the no-show Grammy Winning Artist left hundreds baffled on what should have been a night of celebration.
Partygoers purchased tickets starting at $75 and running up to $1,200 to celebrate with the musician and ring in the New Year. The concert had been announced a week prior to the performance and was highly publicized by Seattle's radio station, KUBE 93.3. Eric Powers, the station's program director, said the station was as taken aback by the no-show as their listeners were.
The anticipation led to huge disappointed when at 11:30, the crowd was informed that Ne-Yo would not be taking the stage as promised.
Instead, according to Michael Brandt who attended the show, the let-down fans listened to a pre-recorded message from Ne-Yo who was on a plane from Nigeria and explained he was not able to come.
Tickets were sold through the event sponsor Wet Entertainment for the Shine Like A Star 2009 New Years Eve Party hosted at the Meydenbauer Center.
