Dr. Laura Schlessinger to dish it live in Bellevue on Saturday

Dr. Laura Schlessinger will bring her sass, wit and yoga poses to the stage at Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue this Saturday, Nov. 8. The number one female talk show host will entertain the audience and answer the tough questions during her one woman theatrical performance entitled Dr. Laura: In My NEVER To Be Humble Opinion.
Those attending the show will have the opportunity to write out any questions or inquires prior to the show to be answered by Dr. Laura. She will then shine some light on her own life and dish out the insight and advise she has gained over the past 30 years of success as an author, public speaker and radio show host personality. The Reporter recently spoke with Dr. Laura about her upcoming Bellevue appearance.
Reporter: What’s in store for the upcoming Bellevue appearance.”
Dr. Laura: The audience will get to see how I’m dressed and how I am in real life. Because they don’t get to see me in radio, they may be shocked to see me in jeans, cowboy boots and a flashy blazer. They get to see my mannerism and hear personal stories, experiences, reactions, and hear about my day-to-day. It will be a rip roaring good time with a lot of drama.
Reporter: What type of topics/questions will you address?
Dr. Laura: The audience will receive four-by-six-inch, off-white cards when they first walk in the door and will have the chance to write personal questions about their lives or ask questions about my life. I love the spontaneity. For some people, going on the stage requires them to have a script memorized. But I love the spontaneity and the challenge.
Reporter: You’ve had a presence on the radio since the 1970s. What insight have you gained over the years?
Dr. Laura: My generation did not do our society a huge favor. Taking the rudder off your boat makes it hard to have a direction and control and in the sixties we said if it feels good, do it. Moral values were old fashioned. I have seen over the decades how much pain, hurt and loss it has brought people. Morals, ethics and principals protect people from disasters. I have definitely seen a lot more chaos within souls and lives because of poor choices.
Reporter: What’s next for Dr. Laura? Do you have any new books or projects in the work?
Dr. Laura: I will be releasing my new book in April titled: In praise of At Home Moms. I am also undergoing a new television project that has yet to be announced. I can say it has something to do with being fit over fifty.
At sixty one years old, I’m in better shape now then I’ve ever been. I think in order for people to live long, your mind has to be in good shape, but so does your body. I am a good role model and so we’re pulling it together. There won’t be any phony equipment just the real deal. Me in a leotard and there’s nothing phony about that.
