People & Places | Award-winning architect at BCC

Award-winning architect Thom Faulders, internationally known for his ability to create dynamic, shifting relationships between a building’s functionality and one’s personal experience of its space, will present a free public lecture on his concepts at Bellevue Community College Nov. 12.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in room 201 of the college’s N Building, at the south end of BCC’s main campus (3000 Landerholm Circle S.E., Bellevue, at the intersection of S.E. 28th St. and 148th Ave. S.E.).

The new Snoqualmie Casino will be the first casino in the state to “go live” with Bally Technologies new million-dollar progressive link slot machines.

The new 1,000,000 Degrees progressive games offer players the chance to win a minimum top prize award of $1 million each time they place a $3 bet.

The casino is located just off I-90 east at Exit 27.

Century mark

LeMaster Daniels celebrated its 100th year in business by participating in national Make a Difference Day on Saturday, Oct. 25.

In Bellevue, company employees partnered with the Camp Korey of Carnation to help with cleanup and maintenance projects at the facility. Camp Korey provides fun activities and getaways for critically ill children.

Kahn in overseas study program

Nicole Kahn of Bellevue is participating in the Bates College Junior Semester Abroad program. Kahn, a psychology major, is studying in Managua, Nicaragua, through the School for International Training.

She is the daughter of Steven and Stephanie Kahn and a 2006 graduate of Newport High School.

Bates College is in Lewiston, Maine.
