Bellevue's Grey Lundberg wins Gold Nugget Award for ‘Urban Lodge’
Jul 19 2008
Bellevue residential builder, Grey Lundberg, Inc. was honored with a Gold Nugget Award for its 5-star Built Green project, The Urban Lodge, a high-performance demonstration home which was destroyed by the Street of Dreams fires this past March. The project earned an “Award of Merit” in the category of Sustainable Built Green Home.
The Urban Lodge project illustrated the economic, environmental, health and lifestyle benefits of using green materials and building techniques. Sustainable features included a cutting edge air purifying system; energy efficient appliances, windows, and heating and cooling systems; recycled material countertops, low-VOC paints and cabinetry; FSC-certified wood flooring, and sustainable organic landscaping.
“This award was particularly meaningful because of the loss of the home in the Street of Dreams fires,” noted company president Grey Lundberg. “For the thousands of people that toured it during the event, it was an inspiring example of what could be achieved in a green home. We are very proud that it continues to receive recognition.”
