Bellevue remodeling contractor receives honor

Jul 05 2008

Lakeville Homes of Bellevue won an award at the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties annual Remodeling Excellence Awards (REX) banquet held June 21 at the Spirit of Washington Event Center in Renton.

One of 15 members to be honored in 21 categories, Lakeville Homes won the award in the category of “Existing or Additional Square Footage more than $600,000.”

The REX Awards is an annual event sponsored by the local chapter of the Remodelors Council that recognizes the best in local remodeling projects. A total of 48 entries were submitted for judging by a panel of experts, consisting of local and national remodelers, media and architects.

The nearly two dozen award categories ranged from remodels of bathrooms for less than $40,000 to kitchens and major remodels up to $600,000. They also recognized remodeler specialties such as interior design and landscaping.

Lakeville Homes received the “Existing or Additional Square Footage more than $600,000” for completely reconfiguring and updating a Mercer Island home. Remodeled, it allows the downsizing residents to live in their rambler with an extra room available for visitors.
